Waiting.

dave donovan

Notice of absence from dave donovan
i can sometimes be very lazy, dont worry, i will eventually get back to you. i am very busy, almost all the time...

Seeing the love in your eyes,

Such sweet surprise.

Feeling love in your lips,

Your tongue, your fingertips.

The pleasure in knowing you intensifies,

The pain from the past dies.

We two know the rhythm.

We dance to the same tune.

The sensuous nature you explore,

Brings a tenderness I adore.

The sweetness of your love

Is a beauty from above.

Within a hardened shell of agony,

The feeling is such ecstasy.

I know the pain from before,

Left you lying on the floor.

In a ball, in a bundle,

Trying not to fumble.

The remains of your heart.

Healing leaves scars.

They are hard to forget.

The very fact of loving is

To open a wound so deep

It has left those feelings asleep.

Awaiting the arrival,

The revival of the heart

That was trapped.

Learning to find a place

To belong.

Somewhere that is lifelong.

That has a heart the same,

To avoid the shame

Of not knowing

Whom to trust.

Within a dreadful pause,

A love that longs for applause.

Waits.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This tells a story, there is a certain someone, whom I have discovered, who was the victim of domestic abuse for many years. She endured this punishment for so long, and now feels that no one can love her. I have been able to show her the smallest open door. I hope she will open it the rest of the way, as I am now waiting for her to decide I am the one to give her that love.
