History Lane

Daniela Alvarez

It's crazy how fast time flies by

I still feel your arms wrapped around me

I still feel tus besos in my tender lips

I thought it was yesterday that

our lips touched for the

First time

But every time I remember

Our memories

I miss how safe I felt around you

I still have your sweater

It doesn't smell like you anymore

But I try to remember what you smelled like

So I can time travel back to where

there was an “us”

To when we said I love you

but never meant it

But now, we're no longer friends

We’re back to 8th grade

back to where we didn’t speak

Down history lane, we stayed
