Loveless Tragedy

Dust

A girl sits lonely and sad

Her heart aches for the love she never had

The air is ripped from her lungs

Gone in a slither of tongues

She weeps for her innocence, long forgotten

Remembers as her flesh was torn like cotton

The hair rips from her skull

The ache is subtle and dull

Her screams are silent

While his touch is invasive and violent

He leaks like milk from a jug

Then leaves like a pride filled thug

The marks on her waist turn blue

His “love” white and slick like glue

She cries to distract from the pain

Then shoots up straight through the vein

Hey eyes are glassy and round

She dies without making a sound

One thought crosses her mind

Before it’s all left behind

Love is all she ever wanted

The one thing that leaves us all haunted

The air slips from her chest

At least she tried her best

Her life eventually goes

Gone in a flurry of woes

  • Comment from author about the poem: Each person on this earth that harbors a beautiful soul is too precious to let the world break them like this; please remember that. Love is a double edged sword that holds hands with euphoria and deciet. It's a tricky thing to decipher and comprehend. Love is not always how it seems so please be careful. Don't let it trick you into believing a wolf is actually a sheep. ~Dust

Beautifully written . Loved the undertone of despair & hopelessness as the main character not only fights for her life but for a void that’s never filled . Favorite so far !

Thank you! I'm glad you were able to see the underlying messages. I like to brief so that the readers can draw up their own conclusions on what is going on.
