“Not quite there “

chana

Tough love,

Rocky hills with sharp edges.

You smoothed my walls away

Molded a path beneath the dirt to stand upon.

I was made to stay.

Said a prayer for better days , but I wasn’t heard.

Left stranded with a shovel in my hand

Which god did I refer too ?

Led me to the peak so I can catch the sunset

I caught the blue tint in your eye as you started to undress.

Forgive me if I’m new to this commitment that I chose to carry

And removed all my thoughts and began to progress.

Rid me away for everything I have

Bid me a new woman in your hands as you marry

A foreseeable future in thy kingdom come

But I rather see another sunset.
