There is a monster that hides behind my eyes,
Beneath happiness and smiles, a perfect disguise.
Everyone around yet nobody sees what resides,
Deep in my body, on the inside.
It’s not their fault though, I won’t lie.
Cause during the day the monster is shy.
Though when the night comes and the moonlight shines,
No one will be able to hear my muffled cry’s,
And within them this magnificent beast thrives,
Yet for some reason it keeps me alive.
Perhaps I’m a toy for its wicked demise,
To play with and torture, to ruin my life,
To batter and bruise, abuse and chastise,
Perhaps there is no reason though we’ll never know why.
But here comes the sun, it’s about to rise,
So the monster must leave, say your goodbyes,
Eradicates wholly by the sun’s light,
Only to return at another time.
