Chasing Our Rainbows

kevin browne

Human life says I just want to thank your strength to carry on
If you're feeling low think of all the good things you've done
And, remember it's not just you we are made to think about
We love other's too you know when we help build their house
Be kind towards finding the honesty, truth and our desires
Killing animals, burning forests filled deadly raging fires
We'll unplug the ocean and clean up all the mess that's there
let the tide flow freely around the world and let off a flare
To interfere with one's own heart then the torturing begins
For demise is a fight which in the end we will always win
Cut the trees that have somehow managed to live 2000yrs
Monkeys screaming the yells, the cries with saddened tears
Snowflakes are fluttering across the painted picture of life
Even the Mona Lisa was the closest to a smile of strife
There we sit tied up with a collar choking the enthusiasm
Fighting between the love and as we all know we had them
Digging deep round shapes made of some wealthy rock
Untimely enough for others not to hear the tick-tock of a clock
Tsunamis' ferociously makes a statement for lives' no return
It's the drowning part of it which indeed we still need to learn
We will sink the ships upon its wave as it lands on a city
Children clinging to a strangers leg begging for some pity
Eyes were rolling down the mountains like a fun fair ride
Behind the hope, there lay a sudden darkness for a place to hide
And threatening behaviour falls to its knees but never gives up
if wars don't kill the hands which pull the triggers aren't enough
The pure winds of delight then blew away the bombs of pain
Once it's over where snakes and scorpions sting once again
I see the jungle light shining down on the things we don't see
Where birds prey flying through the sky learning how to perceive
And upon this Earth, we set about burying children's' landmines
For the son of God has walked his pasture through bad times
Suffering silence when the flick of a weeping tree branch cries
No wonder human minds are faltering and we never know why
Hand by hand slips away into letting go the hope in which we live
Played unfair against banana trees and other fruits that give
More in knowing how our greed lacks sublimely learning to live
Oils leaking from the ocean deep when Dolphins cry and weep
And, upon Jesuses shoulders, he bore the weight for us to keep
Then when the thunders stormed over our clouds that rained
Chasing our rainbows which in causing death once again
People arguing for their right to wealthy thoughts of money
As we sit and learn whilst natures bees are tasting their honey
We have our meadows blossoming into the burning ring of fire
Where daffodils, tulips and the are roses spiked with disease
Then if anyone had any sense at all then show us all, please
Wars cause the grief for the continent's of visual explosions
Only if we learnt how to deal with children's heartfelt devotions
For the skies above are darkened by unshaped crying clouds
When twin towers fall down on human life shouldn't be allowed
Rivers flow gently downstream and a fish is caught by surprise
A taste of what's to come on the planet, let's hope it's nice
And finally, it happened, the Earth began to regrow its beauty
Leaning on the edge of Heaven when things get naughty
Everlasting love towards what we stand and walk on together
Have faith, my dears, because life will thrive on forever.

I dare say I hit the top of the iceberg with this, there are a million one-liners in working out what is actually happening around the globe with humans at the helm. Thanks for your comment. much appreciated.

This read hit home in so many ways Kevin - the shame of mistreating the planet and its inhabitants lies at the feet of those who love lucre and use others for making richer their coffers - - No wonder human minds are faltering" - that is a fantastic line - a powerful piece of "happenings" exposure.

You make me feel blessed through the nib of a pen. We do it wonderfully onMPS, and I'm glad I'm part of it. With people like you are cannot anyone be inspired? Great Kindness.
