Loneliness does funny things inside a man,
Like falling in love with every woman who looks at you,
Or putting it all on the line for the way she says 'yea me too'.
Loneliness does funny things to the mind,
Was she looking my way that way because she took a shine? or is it I, at the wrong end of, the stick that hits between the eyes ?
Loneliness does funny things to the everyday mundane.
I swear sometimes I could kill, just to feel, a sincere warm embrace, or to feel the choke in my throat of too much perfume she's sprayed again.
Loneliness does funny things inside a man.
I can't be the only one who doesn't understand,
How the couple in the coffee shop, ignore each others every need and want, all the while with phones in hand. or how the graveyard of our youth fills up everyday, with the bones of we come so close, but didn't take the chance, that lady love was holding out, offering up with both hands..Loneliness does funny things inside a man.

Wow ooh honest and sincere . Not many men will share the feel as u have done in a sensational and appealing way.. The lines about couples together yet distracted more by handsets ahh wow observed superbly, how they take each other forgranted while lonely souls look on tantalisingly. Kudos.
. Pleez do write your thoughts/comment under my newest poem too , titled , O human heart"l
I love your work. So refreshing to read honesty from a man. I love the last part about the phones in hand it's so accurate. So many people miss out on love and real emotions because they're so absorbed into their phones. Lovely work ~ E
So true Ed, love the way you snip pieces of your everyday to reveal inner feelings. I really can relate to every word of this.
Please have a look at my piece 'promise' published yesterday on here.
