The Heard Song

Rose.a.lee

My Mother, she told me once

at the end of our days

Let the rains fall down

and wash this life away.

There won't be no hand for holding

no trouble for your pain

Just shaking legs beneath you

And the storms that bring the rain.

My Father, he told me too

with that twinkle in his eye

Stand your ground, my darling

and just watch those waves go by.

Just because the road is longer

the path's not gone away

Your feet have found their footing

and the ground has lost its sway.

I had a lover, who said to me

don't you worry about it all

Hearts don't break the bend

and they don't regret the fall

So come on down and tell me about yourself

tell me about your day.

Come on down and listen,

To what I've got to say,
