Many of my old friends had left me.
Yet, you stood by me.
You never left me.
Now I must show you,
the love I have for you.
I am coming to you in mid-november,
before it becomes to cold.
It has been rough,
being without you -
three thousand miles away from you.
I will see you in the Northwest.
I will pack what I must.
However there are,
a few specific things that I must bring,
some more important than others.
First, I must bring,
a very important and personal book,
for us to share.
Second, I will bring to you,
a rare bottle of wine -
again, for us to share.
I will leave for you soon,
and we may spend Thanksgiving together.
Still, I must come before winter.
I will spend a month in a half there,
as we help each other.
Together, we see the snow fall at night.
Together, you, your child, and I,
may spend Christmas together,
and we may bring in the new year.
I am looking forward to seeing you,
so that I may love and kiss you.
May the Lord keep us both,
now, until then, and there on after.

- Comment from author about the poem: This piece is a mix between friendship and love. It was to a special person whom I consider to be a friend and someone who I truely love. I actually took the Idea of this piece from bits of 2 Timothy 4:9-22 - Persistence is key
