The Muse

Jim Yates

How long does it take

For the inspiration of a muse

to disappear

Once she has departed

From your life to another shore?

Does it evaporate

The moment she says adieu?

Does it take a month

A year

Or does it disappear forever

Or does it never go away?

Do you look from your studio

Across the Paris skyline

And cry for her return,

Or ask the Gods of Art

To  find and return her

To inspire you once more

Or will they say

You've had your time

And your day

And your muse has gone

Gone forever

Never to return.

You must carry on and find your dream

In another kind of reality.

Beautiful. have found it necessary to write of my past muse(s) when the thoughts and memories are clear in my mind. Such writings have enabled me to relive moments and times of refreshingly bright periods of my life.
The inspiration of any one muse may fade but my writings have encapsulated them.
    I enjoyed reading you.
