Millennial

alivia

What has happened to my generation?

we tell ourselves not to have any emotion,

we are the ones masterful at lies and manipulation.

because of failed relations,

all because of our pride.

Around here, no one has a good reputation...

we don’t take a flaw with a grain of salt,

we put others down for being a one of a kind creation.

We ask doctors to examine our flaws...

and we ask if he can fix them all?

only because our body goals resemble dolls.

we love with hesitation,

sex isn’t taken into consideration.

its merely a pit stop station.

i want to say I’m not one of you...

though sometimes I feel myself drifting off too.

if it’d be easier to keep up with what’s new?

But i don’t want to be with the heartless crew

i want to be able to say I Love You,

to someone I pursue

though I fear I’ll never have a clue

because he might be using me too.

now I have my guard up,

and i have trust issues...

because he might change his mind out of the blue,

he’ll say a relationship might not work out

But if we can be friends and stay cool?

which will give me Deja Vu from the last dude...

and then I’ll realize I was a fool.

Because maybe if I had never allowed myself to love you,

i wouldn’t be in my dark room...

belting out sad tunes that reminded me of you.
