Comfort in Solitude

asrealastheycome

I feel like if I didn’t talk
Nobody would talk to me
Not like I give a fuck
Just speaking on what I see
I’m in public, with you, her, him, they and me
Everybody’s walkin in pairs
Got only myself for company
I analyze and can tell I’m not like any one else
Comfort in being alone like a lone book on a shelf
Don’t lunge, budge, or attempt to do extra
I’ve realized to open up is how somebody can wreck ya

They wreck you because they don't have your depth. But deep people cant be in familiar company for long without beginning to open up can they. So i understand your self protectionist point of view.
One could spend years being similar, yet yearning for closeness.

You explained it vividly. I feel this mindset is a lost art
