Roots

skyebellasario

A seed was planted.

Under the sun’s radiant beams

He sprouted.

Isolated, by a tropical villa pool

He stands alone

As families arrive

And laugh under the vibrant sky.

Yearning for something more

He has no choice but to, simply, watch

After a short space of time

The families disappear.

Some return,

Some he says farewell to forever.

Each day,

The maids totter around

And he ponders on

Why they decided to stay here forever.

His roots dug firmly into the soil

Give him no choice.

If he was blessed with feet

He wouldn’t think twice about leaving.
