As a man, I can say that body shaming and the idea of petfection plagues boys and men too...though it is less acknowledged and boys/men are socially taught to react to those things/pressures differently than women are...which then makes for a different effect on both. Regardless, it is devastating and girls get the worst brunt of it because they are treated unequally in just about every aspect of society.
