I am just a shadow
sorenbarrett said:
A poem of humility that there is far too little of now days. A poem of hope that we all need. A poem of love that again is in shortage. Lovely

I was intrigued by your poem’s title. Your words capture the essence of the summer’s rain.

Whether just poetic description with stunning imagery or metaphoric of the storm inside it is great.

\"All the leaves are brown...\"
Cassie58 said:
Drawn by the title, Mamas and Papas, California Dreamin. How I loved their music. This poem has beautiful imagery, albeit a melancholic tone. Whenever I see a solitary magpie, I find I am always searching for a second one. Brown leaves and grey skies have an autumn feel, even in summer. Pleased I stopped by, to read your work today.

Is this to do with jack the ripper or have I totally misread it?
At first I thought it was waking up to dark and tortured thoughts and I guess it could be.
But you wrote it in a way which took me to dark alleys in London. I suppose if it is the morning\'s mind it\'s an intriguing metaphor.

Wonderful writing. My busy mind immediately worries me that night has nocturnal life both out there in the field, hill and desert as well as within us. The stuff dreams are made of?
