My comments on the poem “Ashley” by Emily Bradshaw.

I notice that the word “freshman” is used even for women. I once saw the term “Freshman Congresswoman.” It seems no alternative has yet been found for this.
I like your poem “Ashley.” It recounts the story of a bonding.
Best wishes.

Difficult to make commentary here, as I am originally English, where even the Cops don\'t routinely wear guns and now live in Australia where Cops do, but there are (we are assured) very few among the general population.

To make judgement generally I can only conclude that the whole of a very overpopulated world is beset with stupidity.

\"Thoughts and Prayers won\'t save.....\" - There have been many thoughts and prayers at MPS over such phenomena as climate change, war and so on... exercises in futility.

Please continue to tell it like it is, Emily.

And as a postscript, you have made the sonnet form your own, without a whisper...

In terms of personal debate in the area I believe (and understand this is an old guy here) I ask are these people doing you any harm personally? No?
So in the case of the LGBQwatever folks leave them alone.

You precisely nail how cultural norms impose/encourage gender roles on individuals in society. This is the problem at its core.
You have the awareness which you must spread wider than this little corner at MPS.

A brave and forceful poem about the current situation facing America. It is appalling that our (leadership?) can\'t seem to move to save our children. Please remember this when it\'s time for you to vote. Loved your poem. - Phil A.

That is some opening to what I hope will be the series of promised poems. Thank you Emily.
Well articulated and paced.
You and your like minded youthful associates are the only hope for a world on the verge of destruction.
I hope you find MPS an enjoyable and satisfying place. It is interactive so feel free to read other\'s work, comment and respond to commentary on your own poetry.
