Two poems the first in a sense personifies two birds contesting their supremacy against each other then humanizes them when seen through the eyes of a person and likens them to people that too have problems differentiating others from their own thoughts. The second describes difficulties in cultural differences. The tie seems to be the understanding of others. Both nicely done.

Huge Cylinder on the Road

A huge cylinder of plastic sheet
Stood in the middle of the street
It baffled my wisdom because
I could not see the contents of it
Suddenly it was torn apart a little
Some books protruded through
New and old works of Xun LU
And other tiles all so cool
It downed upon me that a used book sale
Was held on campus on a large scale
These must be the leftovers of it
To be weighed on the recycle station scale
They should be free to grab so I rushed over
In a puff of smoke it was there no longer
A garbage truck just went by I was told
Seeing it quickly driving away I ran after
Finally it stopped at a street corner
It was a flatbed truck, carrying many a worker
When I approached it however
I did not see a shadow of the cylinder
