जीवन संध्या (Twilight of Life)
Soman Ragavan said:

“Now preparations are for the journey,
Nothing accompanies me there.
The setting twilight makes one understand
That humanity alone matters there.”
The signs that the end of life is near. Perhaps they are not really near, but the mind thinks otherwise, perhaps from bad experiences suffered. “Nothing accompanies me there” : in death we go alone, just as we came alone on earth. The setting twilight symbolizes the setting of the sun in our own life.
However, we should remain cheerful and not see death as the end of everything. It’s our legacies that matter more, what we leave back for humanity. Our poetry will outlive us.

A philosophical tone throughout. Practical-minded, coming to terms with reality. When the relationship is not going to work, better to let go of it.

The Buddha said that the key to nirvana is letting go of all desire. Letting go of love is the hardest of all. A powerful poem of sacrifice. Lovely
