I am preoccupied with the belief that no one should bring a child into the world without a reasonable expectation that the child will be able to experience a safe fulfilled life.
Thanks for putting this out there. I hope you gain something from your stay at MPS.

great poem.... I had to reflect this same way when I thought of procreating. Still... with suffering there is always room for pleasure. Great poem

Yep: throughout time the world has been fucked and wonderful depending on your spot in the deck of cards. Recognizing the certain yin/yang moments of life begs each of us to challenge our choices. I became a mom three times, each time my life was filled with joy and challenge. My first child was born in the midst of the Viet Nam war, and in the deepest portion of poverty, the 2nd child was a son, unwanted by my husband so my first born and my son waltzed off to change the world together and we have for ourselves and others. The third child was with a new man who loved me, my first two kids and our own child. All the kids are grown, they each chose to have kiddos too and we all continue to try to make the world a better place. Find your purpose and dig in to change the world.
