I Need To Let Her Go

I love the message in this poem. I have felt the same way about the people I have lost...It's really hard to move on but writing about it helps A LOT.

I Need To Let Her Go

WELCOME BLAKE ~ Thanks you for sharing a very poignant but true first poem. I'm 33 and still single and I can empathise ~ it happens and will happen again ! Love between two people is usually NOT permanent. That is why over 40% of marriages in the UK end in DIVORCE ! In my experience "Love Affairs" have a limited span (5 - 10 years ?). The problem is (as your elegant poem states) the break is never clean ! I have ex-GF's I am still passionately in love with and other of my ex-GF's are still on love with. I could have got married (maybe I should have ?) but perhaps now I too would have been a divorce statistic. Were Humans designed to be monogamous ? The only consolation I have found it that the rewards of passionate intimate love are so so rewarding that I have always been able to move on and move on and move on ! Love really is a many splendoured thing ! Yours BRIAN
