(Separated into 4 sections titles “Book #”). Right off the bat in Book 1 you get your hopes up, only to have them come crashing down (literally and figuratively) just a moment later. Just like Cinder & Scarlet, Cress is given a love interest. I have read the Brother Grimm version of Rapunzel so there were references to the classic tail, but Cress’s love interest seems 100% based off of Flynn Ryder from Disney’s “Tangled” and I am here for it! The book is broken into many more perspectives which made it hard to keep track. After chapter 13 or something I just couldn’t put the book down! The action just kept building. I got really frustrated with the characters at times, like, REALLY frustrated. The climax of the story was everything I hoped it would be. The book as a whole definitely as an air of romance in it, and I believe that is because this book is supposed to revolve around Cress who likes the “damsel-in-distress” thing. I can’t wait to read the finale of the series in “Winter"
