Thomas Hardy's plots are quite quaint, almost silly, by todays standards but I just love his use of the language and read his books all the time for this reason. I guess it shows in much of my poetry.

Beautifully written and a true English classic by Thomas Hardy. Hardy\'s novel vividly tells the story of the beautiful heroine Bathsheba Everdene and three very different men out to capture her heart set amongst the breathtaking English Wessex countryside.
This is my favourite Thomas Hardy novel.
