I loved the prologue, and how its messages become an important part of the rest of the story. Rho is so much more fierce and she immediately takes action. It’s so unlike her that I was afraid at any moment something would reverse her momentum. When the change did eventually happen it was very subtle, but Rho didn’t regress she adapted. The strain her wall of ice she had around her heart tested her resolve and relationships, but she never backed down. It’s like she finally woke up. The story makes place very much in Rho’s mind, if you know what I mean. Sadly a lot of secondary characters were lost throughout the book. By the end I didn’t have the emotion bandwidth to cry another tear. It ends with a literal and metaphorical new dawn.
