I read and listened to this book, but it couldn’t hold my attention for long. I had to use SparkNotes to read the summary of each chapter after I had finished reading/listening to it. The jumping back in time thing didn’t work for me. It works for movies and TV shows, but in this case, not for books. The last few chapters were really good. I understood the younger generation more than the older generation.

This is a classic English Gothic novel full of ghosts, mysteries and dark undertones. This novel is a typical good verses evil story. Though not an easy read, if you like Gothic novels this is a good one in my opinion.
