Tell me, O Octopus, I begs
Is those things arms, or is they legs?
I marvel at thee, Octopus;
If I were thou, I'd call me Us.

    I've enjoyed a number of Ogden Nash's humorous and often whimsical writings and this one also did not disappoint! I appreciated the light-hearted tone and the playful language he used. It engages readers into a creative point of view about a creature we don’t often consider. Nash's unique perspective and clever use of words leave a smile on my face. Everyone needs a good, whimsical poem now and then!
