Cecily Parsley

Beatrix Potter

CECILY PARSLEY
lived in a pen,
And brewed good ale
for gentlemen;

GENTLEMEN came
every day,
Till Cecily Parsley
ran away.

    REMEMBER READING THIS LITTLE DITTY AS A KID! REALLY TAKES ME BACK. SURE DOES HAVE A SIMPLICITY AND INNOCENCE THAT I FEEL IS LOST IN MOST MODERN POETRY. ALWAYS FOUND IT ENCHANTING, AND A BIT MYSTERIOUS TOO, ESPECIALLY ABOUT CECILY! STILL LOVE IT, GREAT READ!
