Little Birds That Sing So Sweet

James Smetham

Little birds that sing so sweet,
They deserve to taste their meat;
With their little eye-peeps see,
Singing on the cherry-tree.
In the eve they close their eyes:
Lord of heaven and earth and skies.
In the morning they do sing
Praises to their God and King:
Sing to Him their joyous notes,
Warbling with their little throats.
They've no storehouse, barn, nor corn,
But God feeds them night and morn.
