Happiness-

Stevie Smith

Happiness is silent, or speaks equivocally for friends,
Grief is explicit and her song never ends,
Happiness is like England, and will not state a case,
Grief, like Guilt, rushes in and talks apace.

Just read 'Happiness' by Stevie Smith and I'm really struck by her unique take on how happiness and grief communicate. Smith really has her finger on the pulse of human emotion. She definitely offers a different perspective that has me pondering. Highly recommend for a thought-provoking read.

Wow! This piece really hit home for me. It beautifully highlights how easily we express sorrow compared to the quieter, more abstract nature of joy. It's like taking a look at the silent strength of cheerfulness versus the boisterous presence of sadness. Really thought-provoking. I'm deeply moved! 😌👏🏻🍃
