If there is a witness to my little life,
To my tiny throes and struggles,
He sees a fool;
And it is not fine for gods to menace fools.

Comments1As a student, the line "To my tiny throes and struggles" really resonated with me. A straight-forward piece of work which vividly depicts human life as small and foolish, especially in the eyes of a higher power. Not particularly uplifting, but certainly thought-provoking. The idea of being seen as a fool by gods is an intriguing mental image.
