To love thee Year by Year—
May less appear
Than sacrifice, and cease—
However, dear,
Forever might be short, I thought to show—
And so I pieced it, with a flower, now.

Just finished rereading one of Emily Dickinson's beautiful poems. I first encountered this poignant piece when I was younger. Dickinson's stunning wordplay never fails to wow me. Her exploration of love and the passing of time is truly touching. A must-read for all poetry lovers!
