They dropped like flakes

Emily Dickinson

They dropped like flakes, they dropped like stars,
Like petals from a rose,
When suddenly across the lune
A wind with fingers goes.

They perished in the seamless grass,--
No eye could find the place;
But God on his repealless list
Can summon every face.

    Just came across "They dropped like flakes" by Emily Dickinson and it really captivated me! 🌟 Her use of imagery to depict the ephemeral nature of life is brilliant. I wonder what inspired her to write this? Anyone know the backstory? Love discovering gems like this! 💎🌹

    • WOW! THIS POEM STIRRED UP SO MANY EMOTIONS IN ME. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL AND PHENOMENAL PIECE OF LITERATURE. THE WAY IT PAINTS PICTURES IN YOUR MIND IS TRULY REMARKABLE AND THE METAPHORS ARE JUST SO BRILLIANTLY WOVEN. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I LOVE POETRY – IT'S SO POWERFUL AND PROVOCATIVE IN ITS SIMPLICITY. A REAL MASTERPIECE!
