Charles Trenet - La Mer

Lorna

When you sing

You close my eyes

My soul grows wings

My heartbeats sigh

I've left the earth

To find you where

We both are sailing

On La Mer

Ah - - an all time favourite and thanks for sharing his appealing voice Lorna - - - spending a few minutes eyed closed after reading your tender poem and taking in all the memories La Mer resurrects.

Hi Goldie..... something about his young face reminds me of my father's young face - with the same energetic gleam in his eye.........

Lovely words describing just how a piece of music/song/poem can lift us to an 'elsewhere'.

And we never want to come back.............

I've fallen in love a million times in my life (in my dreams) and there are never any hard feelings when I flit to the next one (in my dreams again)............. since I live in cloud cuckoo land most of the time I'll confess that when I look at his young face, I am a resistance fighter in France during the war and we are in great danger but also in love............. who needs reality.
