What Breezes Bring

Lorna

As breezes blow and kiss my face

The whispers that they leave behind envelop me

The souls of everyone I have known

Have just blown in the wind

And sewn a patchwork of love

Out of the nothingness  of air

I am so glad

That they are there

  • Fay Slimm.

Lovely read Lorna - a good start to my reading time. Great number too.

    • Lorna

Hi Fay - going to read yours now that I have coffee cup in hand!

    • sylviasearcher

That is a really beautiful poem.

      • Lorna

Thanks Sylvia - I've been off exploring your poems and love the ones I read so far!

        • sylviasearcher

Thanks Lorna... I've not really been right for writing the last few days.

My poetic voice can be a little tragic at times 😳

          • Lorna

That's perfectly fine....... it can help work things out! Every once in a while though - see the sunshine.

            • sylviasearcher

Oh I do, it's just that I don't write poems about that. Poetry is my therapy...πŸ’œ

              • Lorna

Sylvia smiling secretly, her little heart for us to see ....

                • sylviasearcher

Well it's not that I want to smile in secret... It is just that words never flow... Poetry is a form of making sense for me. When I'm sat happily listening to bird song I don't feel compelled to make sense of it with words.

It is a moment of being which whenever I have tried to recapture usingwords it's beauty has evaded me. Maybe one day ode to autumn will come!

Maybe I'm just one of those miserable poets! πŸ˜±πŸŽ‰πŸ˜‰πŸŒŸπŸ˜πŸ€

No you're not! Anyway didn't they always call "sad" poets "romantic" - ha! I really do believe that a lot of art comes from unhappiness......... it turns us inward and we try to express it in a way that makes sense. Also being introverted (which I definitely am)...... Your point is so valid! Why write while the bird is singing anyway!

                    • sylviasearcher

Exactly I want to enjoy being with the birds! πŸ’œ

                                  • orchidee

Well, I wake up with words sometimes. Don't get up tot write them down. Then by morning I have forgotten them. doh! But I woke up specially to read this one... (did I?). Flattery will get me everywhere!

                                        • Goldfinch60

If the breeze is gentle your cheeks would merely flush with their natural beauty.
