Backyard Imagination

Reyas

I pick up my mighty sword with my sturdy shield,

I shout to the evil wizard, “You shall yield!”

His only reply is a sneaky little grin,

“Foolish Knight, you will never win!”

That’s when the battered ground started to rumble,

Out came a dragon, with a belly that grumbles,

But I stood strong my sword grasp firm,

“I’ll never lose wizard, it’s time for you to learn!”

I ran at the dragon my shield held high,

Fire hitting my shield, flames snipping at my eyes,

I lunge with my sword nipping it’s face,

A fireball swirling by, my side it has graze,

But still I stand strong, ready to fight,

I run at the dragon with every inch of my might,

Right before I attack the street lights come on,

Then I hear my mom “Dinners ready, come on!”

So I put down my garbage lid, and toss away my stick,

“I would have won Ben, I just needed one more hit!”

“We’ll see tomorrow, you’ll surely lose!”

I nod my head yes, “same time after school.”

That’s when I head home to eat mother’s food,

So I wave to my friend and bid him adieu.
