Don’t Falter

Reyas

I must not falter,

I must stand tall,

I must go on even when I cannot move,

No matter what I go through I have to keep up this front,

I must be a beacon for the lost souls and show them the way,

I must save them even when I cannot save myself.

Aha the external shell we all build around our feelings and inner sensitivity.
It used to be the 'stiff upper lip' mentality and macho me that was the acceptable face of Brit masculinity but things have move along. And aren't we all the better for it!
I think your piece is to tempt your reader to reveal they have no desire to maintain a front which involves standing tall and showing THE way.
Being communicative, visibly fallible and able to offer advice upon A way is probably the effective solution.
    Great thought provoking piece.

In general the piece could go many ways but I agree with you perspective. Yeah you can be that strong unflinching shoulder to cry on, but wouldn’t it be more helpful to these people if you relate more with them? And instead of pulling them with you, get down and use each other to go forward? Just some thoughts. Thank you for reading as always your feedback is a blessing.

And yet we all need help ourselves at times. We can appear 'superior' if we're seemingly always helping others, while at times it's a 'front'

Indeed it is. Thank you for reading and giving some feedback, with those truthful words.

Stand tall and go forward helping others and as you help them you will get stronger, strong enough to save yourself.

You faltered there? You collapsed all in a heap?! Oops! (heehee).
