She gazed out her plane window
focusing on each white, puffy cloud.
She looked over to see all the people
doing their own thing in the crowd.
She wondered if any of them
had ever flown in a plane,
they all seemed relaxed.
They all seemed the same.
This plane ride was novel to her,
she wanted to explore this great wide world.
This was her first adventure
as a newly adult girl.
She looked down at her jeans
and brushed back her brown, silky hair.
She began to really question
how long she'd been in the air.
She quietly watched below
all the large buildings so small.
She turned to everyone
and wondered if they felt this way at all?
She was excited for her destination,
she tried to contain it at heart
She was ready for a rising adventure,
a fresh, brand new start.

Terrific, escapism at its best. Imagination in flight, expressed in the third person. We've all been there on that first flight, but you've captured it forever. Well done. - Phil A.
Thank you for your comment Phil
A well- written tale of seeing the world for the first time from a plane and how a new adult female cannot wait for coming adventures . A delightful read Crystal.
Thanks Fay
A wonderful poem about becoming an adult - I like the way you use the plane as a way to show movement and travel!
Thank you Jon! 🙂
May your journey in life be as thrilling as your first aeroplane ride.
Thank you for that
Your writing is wide eyed, with all the passion of youth and optimism. So enjoyed it.
