Trout In Colorado

Trout In Colorado

I fished some in Colorado

For beautiful rainbow trout

Enticing them with lures

That the locals talked about

I wore my favorite t-shirt

While fishing a rippling stream

I had my license new

And was a novice on the scene

We ended up at a fish pond

That charged by the pound

Virtually guaranteeing

That I would catch fish now

And some fish I caught

With my parents much relieved

That my fish were small

And could be afforded financially

Someday I’ll go back

To Colorado as a man

With a hired guide

To make my fly-rod bend

And he’ll do the cooking

Preparing as he should

With freshly caught rainbows

Tasting mighty good

Good write. I used to go trout fishing an there is nothing quite like the taste of a freshly caught trout that you have caught your self.

Thanks, G. Ah, yes. There's nothing like fresh fish and the enjoyment of catching them.

Trout are infamous in avoiding the baited line - - the fish farm sounds good after an age standing in a cold stream - - very much enjoyed this read w.c.

Thanks for your comments, Fay. My fishing in Colorado is one of my dearest childhood memories. I've yet to return there as an adult but hope to some day.
