Your Little Memories

Clark

i never knew what it was like to be truly loved until you choose me

you told me that i was the only one you could ever imagine being with

that love only meant us

and that this was destiny

i remember lying in the grass that May evening

we had only been together a month

you were helping me study for my math final and

the wind kept blowing our hair in our faces

only for you to pull it back with your fingers

your eyes sparkled a stunning hazel

and your hands held my waist

like it was the only home they'd ever known

completely and utterly

meant to be

i remember the drive to the park after our friend's funeral

how we talked about life and our future and

what it all meant

looking into each others eyes

scared at even the thought of losing what we had

to an inevitable death

i remember laughing until we couldn't breathe

i remember leaning into your shoulder crying on your nirvana t-shirt

i remember your body wrapping behind mine as we slept

the problem is

the memory of you is all i have

the real you is nowhere to be found

- do you remember me
