Run

sylviasearcher

He said he would give her a head start
Her being a girl
He watched as she ran
Even in a race she seemed to twirl
He did not move from the starting line
Watching her getting further all the time

Her footsteps beat against the asphalt
Should he give chase or turn away
Undecided still,he saw her feet halt
Turning and looking back she saw his struggle to stay
Her eyes asked a question he had no answer for
He didn't know what to do anymore

She looked ahead
She looked behind
If she wins she loses
She searched for an answer she could not find
Does she show she wants him in the race
She could keep on running
And save her shamed face

His eyes meet her gaze
It all became clear
This is the girl who sets his heart ablaze
She's the one he holds most dear
He put aside his pride
Took his first step forward to run to her side

She slowed down her pace
Looking back far too much
She tripped on her lace
And tumbled to the ground
Shrieking with the most unladylike sound

RUN ~ NUR ~ ACROSTIC BRIANODES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RUN WHILE YOU CAN WHERE YOU CAN
UP & DOWN ~ DOWN & UP ~ UP & DOWN
NOBODY'S IMPRESSED YOUR NOT GOING ANYWHERE
NOBODY'S IMPRESSED YOUR NOT GOING ANYWHERE
UP & DOWN ~ DOWN & UP ~ UP & DOWN
RUN WHILE YOU CAN WHERE YOU CAN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DAMN ! I SEEM TO HAVE ENDED WHERE I STARTED

As the sun sets, restlessness grows
Shall we race again tomorrow?
He looks down
With a frown
If racing is the only game you'll play
I'll run in circles everyday
Until the day you finally see
You do not need to run from me
