Record Players Are Best
I loved to see those 33s turn
And hear that music played
For Christmas it was Johnny Mathis
Mother’s favorite for the holidays
Dad had favorites too
With Hank Williams and Hank Snow
And Betsy Cline many times
And Johnny Cash singing low
And there were also the 45s
From Buddy Holly to Michael Jackson
That I enjoyed and hear sometimes
On the radio while I’m relaxing
Record players are coming back
As retro is a style
And I remember way-back-when
Records were best a while
Of course CDs are great
With a crystal sound
But I miss those album covers
And those records going ‘round

absolutely ! I remember my records and record player like it was yesterday! bob Dylan was born in my life. and still is to this day. I liked very much watching the records going around. I have to say it was the best time in my life!
Thanks, onepauly! It's always nice to hear from someone that can remember and appreciate records. I really miss the album covers. Records are becoming popular again. i don't own a record player anymore but would like to purchase one if i ever saw it a garage sale.
I can go back even further to the days of 78s, I still have my fathers collection.
I still have and can still play on my record player the very first LP I bought back in the early 60s, it is an album called The Shadows and it is the only recording with the original line up, I also have their second album but their drummer had changed from Tony Meehan to Brian Bennett.
Thanks, G. My grandparents had some 78s that i saw when i was a kid. Most of my records were 45s. Many were rock-n-roll records that i traded for.
Mine has rusted up now or something, it's so old. I know what you mean. Good write w c.
People may look at you as if you're mad if you ask for video recorders, or even fax machines, these days.
They say 'What the....'., who uses faxes these days?!'
Thanks, orchidee. Tehnology always changes though it's not always for the better. Most agree that CDs are better than 8-tracks and cassettes, but i still enjoy album covers and some of the sounds you get with records. I'm a little old fashioned some would say.
