Bargain Antiques

I enjoy going to antique stores

And get excited when inside

I’m fascinated by the tarnished things

And look for one to buy

Of the things that I examine

Some are really good deals

With some items found while there

With patinas and shining still

When I find something I like

I casually proceed to the front

Where I inquire about the price

And the bargaining is begun

Many items are overpriced

And the price is quietly debated

And when I make a final offer

The owner usually takes it

When my day of shopping is done

I put my purchase on a shelf

There with my other antiques

Tarnished and not for sale
