She once said....

The Retired Bloke

She once said

It’s a glad to be alive day

I know what she meant

Today with blue skies

Warm air and gentle breeze

Birds joyfully twittering in the trees

Beckoning the world to arise

To see the wonder of a bright new day

All this to the musical score

Of the leaves softly rustling

An owl hooting along to the melody

Of this natural remedy

To life’s stresses and strains

I know what she meant

When she tried to convey

The euphoria of it being

A glad to be alive day.
