Autumns Wonder.

Goldfinch60

I awake in the darkness,

The summer mornings are closing,

Autumn approaches,

That time when nature changes,

Changes into its full beauty,

That colourful beauty

Of yellow, orange and red.

The brush of an artist tries

Tries to capture the feeling,

But nature has too many colours,

Too many unseen hues.

This is my time,

My time to walk within natures art,

Marvel at its creation,

Stand amongst its wonder,

Lifting me to a higher land,

Where My Spirit shows me the way.

  • Comment from author about the poem: It is coming into autumn, my favourite time of the year. I know that Brian has put on the song Autumn Leaves sung by Nat King Cole in his post today, mine is a much different version of this song.

A fine write Gold. me diary says Autumn don't start until about Sept 23rd. But one year end of September it reached 90F in freak heatwave!
So it's a quarter to Autumn now, time-wise! lol.

    • Goldfinch60

That may be true but it is dark in the mornings now when I get up so it certainly isn't summer any more.

A horrid thought maybe - after the Autumnal Equinox, there is more darkness than light in each 24 hours, for about 6 months. Then it's vice versa. We force it a bit with British Summer Time and that hour lost/gained. You put that light on there? - or arrgghh, you fell down the stairs in the dark?! Ohh, it's late Summer, or early Autumn - whatever we prefer!

Hi Andy - Love your thoughts on Autumn - I heard a weather person call this the "meteorological beginning of Autumn" even if it isn't official yet - right after our Labor Day. Fall thrills me (born in October) and hopefully the awful heat will let up and let us enjoy this coming season! Enjoy your day .....

I too was born in October and I reach my seventieth birthday this coming October.

My favourite time is a November morning where there is a frost on the ground and the sun is shining, I love walking in those conditions.

Happy Libra! Yes and funnily enough when all the leaves are down and there is frost on the ground I find it very peaceful and serene........ all the activity of the garden months goes quiet and it is very relaxing isn't it.....

Cooeee - you seen Michael today?

              • Goldfinch60

No, but I do know that that he is busy preparing for exhibitions of his artwork.

Autumn is my favorite season. I love to see the changing colors of leaves.

So do I, nature's palette is so wonderful.

In silent contemplation, we sense our Creator’s hand in it all and rejoice. Thanks for taking me there through this visually stimulating piece.

                    • Goldfinch60

Our Creator does a wonderful job when he creates autumn for us.

Thank you for your wonderful comment Gary.
