Being Thin

The Retired Bloke

Sometimes I’m fat sometimes thin

Occasionally I have a double chin

There’s no big secret to losing weight

You can’t adjust your adult height

To spread the load of excess timber

Or wish yourself a little slimmer

It’s all about food and exercise

Nothing intelligent nothing wise

Just resist the urge for another biscuit

A little walk, jog or swim is almost implicit

Avoid the need to binge on telly soaps

Or reality shows with blokes being blokes

Live your life not watch others live theirs

Avoid the lift always take the stairs

See the sofa as your ultimate enemy

Regular activity will help you mentally

At the end of the day life is about choices

Being sedentary will inevitable destroy us

So get off your backside lose that double chin

Before you know it you will be thin!

Good advice and very true. We all have it within us to keep reasonably fit and healthy without having to resort to costly diets or gyms.

Eat less of what you enjoy,
    walk quickly to the pub!
