Crayons

w c

Crayons

He had a box of crayons

And colored all the time

With every picture precious

And special in our minds

There were pictures of animals

Dogs red and cats green

And purple dinosaurs

Depicted colorfully

Pictures on the refrigerator

Were ones that he made

With his latest work

The artwork on display

And pictures of our family

He colored with great pride

With our family pets

Always by our sides

Much of his artwork

We put in a book

Where they were colorful

And got a second look

One year he won a contest

And his family knew

That he colored like no other

And the contest was their proof

Beautiful. Those magic pictures of childhood which is all too quickly passed. You capture the essence of this vividly here.
I recall my sons pictures with a smile today. Thank you for that.

Thanks, d a. I always enjoyed seeing those beautiful pictures my son brought home. I can't help but smile at the thought of them. One day, I hope to see the artwork of my grandkids.
