The little girl still lives inside

misskay

I am now a women

But inside I am still a little girl

So many dreams and stories to tell

A forgiving heart

And an innocent mind

Wishing for world peace

And an extension of time

I still like to explore

 I still like to play

I still want my hair stroked

And to be loved through each day

I still want the protection

and a safe loving Home

I still like to be creative in a quiet space of my own

I still like family gatherings

I still like counting our blessings

I still like laughing a lot

And playing on the swing

I still like snuggles

And books in the evening

I still like to hear the harmonic sound

Of a piano, Such delight to my ears

I still like every season

I still like walks on the beach and pier

i still like playing board games

i still like dancing and singing songs

i still like to be nurtured when things go wrong

I am a women

but I am still a little girl inside

I shall never part with her

Not for the world

Thanks for caring & sharing KAY ~ love your picture ! This is a lovely reminiscent Poem we can all share ! How ever old we are ~ M or F ~ we all love to revert to Children again. I go to my MUM's for lunch each Sunday and suddenly I'm 5 and not 35 ~ AMEN
In your Poem you highlight all the lovely childhood traits many of which we shed (like Autumn leaves) as we get older. Innocence - Peace - Exploration - Loving & being Loved (by everyone) - Creativity - Protection - Laughing - Play - Snuggles - Music - Walks on the Beach - Silly games - Dancing - Nurture etc etc ~ Where did our Childhood go ? Its now 10:30 pm here (Essex UK) your lovely poem will make me sleep well ~ Yours as always BRIAN ~ Please check my POEM on JOHN DENVER ~ Thanks B !
