the song bird sings

delaneynichols

the song bird sings,
tales of woe and laughter,
a story of love,
of war and famine,
bad and good.
the song bird tells a story
within each note
about patience and time
the story of how the earth came to be.

And no two tales ever sound quite the same,
though each tone rings equally true
This bird sings for you, for your joy and for your pain
If you're crying now,
let the songbird be your lullaby
and perhaps when you wake you can smile again

The song of love that once I knew
I hear again
I listen to
The chorus of the rising dawn
