Tune: Kingsfold

John 2 v.13-24 parts

John's Gospel Series (2)
The Jews Passover was at hand
They came from every land
Unto Jerusalem, and so
To Temple they did go
Jesus, He went and found therein
Sellers, and did begin
To make a whip of small cords to
Cleanse all the Temple true
For there were sellers of oxen
And sheep and doves there too
With changers of money sitting
There 'neath the Temple wing
Jesus He did drive them all out
For sure without a doubt
His Father's house they there had made
A den of thieves, cash paid
The disciples they remembered
Did among themselves shared
The word of scripture was written
And did come to pass then
That the zeal of his Father's house
Had eaten up Jesus
Then the Jews asked, What sign do you
Do to prove your works new?
Jesus said, Destroy this Temple
And make it cease and fall
And in three days I will it raise
Though you may thus it raze
The Temple that He so did speak
Was of His body weak
When crucified, but rose again
Strong Saviour of all men

Ahh, a slight error in the video. Verse 1 should read: 'Lay down.... your head upon my breast'. It says 'hand' in the video - doesn't make sense, unless you got a weary hand?!
Thanks UNCLE STEVE ~ Love the HYMN a real balm for the Work Weary (like Angela & I) who have to earn a CRUST ~ I hope to retire 70 in 2053 !
I love JOHN's Gospel it presents JESUS as the SON of GOD in a ll His Power & Glory. When i was 16 (2000) my Parents took me to OBBERAMAGAU to see the Passion Play. The scene where He Cleanses the Temple is awesome real DOVES and real SHEKELS and the Money Lenders (who were JEWS) didn't ry to stop HIM ~ AMEN ! Thanks for sharing and uplifting ~ AMEN
Every BLESSING ~ BRIAN 😎😎😎😎
Thanks B&A. I've chosen certain passages as I do a series of studies in John's Gospel. It takes me through the whole book.
