Love Like it's Our Last

JWKP98

Live like this could be your last day,

For we never know when the Lord will call us away.

Live like it is your last day, but not for the day, not for you;

Rather, live for God, act upon what He would have you do.

Be at war all your life, but for the right reasons, on God’s side;

A life full of love and service, what could bring your family more pride?

Live a life of peace and love, being always of the spiritual sword,

And peace forevermore after passing shall be your reward.

Is it live like today is your last so much as love like it is so?

The only thing we depart with is what we leave behind when we go.

So depart leaving healing, not pain,

And may memory do justice to your name.

Kneel before the cross so long as your lungs give you breath,

And may God say to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant” upon your death.

May your life sing God’s praises that your family may look on your life with peace,

Sure of your destination, proud of what you did, when your heartbeat ceased.
