Tune: Rosefield

('Bread of heaven, on thee we feed')

John 6 v.27-35

John's Gospel Series (6)

Jesus said, Labour not so

Much for the food that you know

Will satisfy appetite

Temporal, yet needed, right

To sustain us every day

in our human life pathway

But that food, it does perish

Though it to stay we may wish

But labour more for that food

Which endures and which is good

Endures to life e'erlasting

Eternal sustenance bring

For He the Son of man shall

Give us this food, we fare well

For He by God has been sealed

He His Father, He revealed

His Son, He the bread of life

Satisfies us, free from strife

They that come to Him shall ne'er

Hunger, in His life shall share

And they that on Him believe

Shall never thirst, founts receive

Of His living water pure

He shall grant to us e'ermore

In this world of so much starvation surely that belief is being questioned.
